Speed Matters Activity - NYC - Local 1150

For our activity for the SPEED MATTERS Campaign we decided to hold it at 32 Ave of the Americas, in NYC. This building was the Corporate headquarters of AT&T Long Lines. It was recently sold and is now the home to many different communications companies. This landmark building in itself is a symbol of what has happened to this company and this industry. We had three large blow-up dinosaurs to help draw attention to our leafleting of both the public and workplace leaflet. The dinosaurs had signs on them, which said "WE WERE TOO SLOW"; "SPEED MATTERS"; and "AMERICA NEEDS HIGH SPEED INTERNET". We got a group of retirees to be out there with signs saying "We built the Communications of the Past" and current workers with signs saying, "We want to build a high speed future".
