Dover Bargaining Report

July 21, 2008

On Friday, July 18th, we met with the Company in formal session; the Company passed a complete proposal to us.  Your bargaining team worked Friday evening and Saturday morning on a complete counter package.

On Saturday afternoon we met in formal session and passed our counters to the Company.

At the completion of the meeting on Saturday, AT&T informed us that they were leaving the bargaining table, after having told us the previous Wednesday that they were here until we reached a contract and that if we didn't reach agreement they wouldn't be coming back to Dover.

We were stunned, because we had made tremendous progress at the table and we were and are prepared to get a contract.  CWA is in the process of contacting the head of Labor Relations to see what the problem is, and we are going to file a National Labor Relations Board Charge on bad faith bargaining.

We will keep you informed as events progress.  We are hopeful that we will know something later today or early tomorrow.

Gear up!
